OPU implements a project Home in a New Country III, reg.no. CZ.12.01.02/00/22_003/0000003, which is financed under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund Operational Programme and the budget of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic. The aim of the project is to improve the position of foreign minors who come to the territory of the Czech Republic unaccompanied by their parents or other relatives (project implementation period: 1 August 2023 – 30 June 2025).
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
The main objective of the project is to raise awareness, provide assistance and facilitate the integration into society of representatives of the target group, which includes unaccopmanied minors who are placed in one of the specialized institutions for the performance of institutional and protective education. These are third-country nationals, in some cases not only minors, but also those who have reached the age of majority but are still placed in the relevant institution for the purpose of extending their institutional care by a court or for the purpose of continuing their studies, up to the age of 26. The aim of the project is to raise awareness among the representatives of the target group about their rights and obligations, about their position and possibilities in the Czech Republic, to help them solve the problems related to their situation and to facilitate their integration into Czech society. Through the activities of the project, the representatives of the target group will also be prepared for leaving the institution of institutional education, which should facilitate not only their transition to independent life, but also their integration into Czech society. The project activities include legal and social counselling, educational and socio-cultural activities, leisure activities, tutoring and professional pedagogical assistance.
