Invitation to international conference in Athens – on-line on 4-5 March 2021

The international conference “Potentials & Limitations of Subnational Solutions to the Migrant Question in Europe” will take place in Athens on 4-5 March 2021. The conference will bring together mayors and local representatives, EU policy makers, civil society, scholars and volunteers to discuss and envision local-level responses to challenges connected to increasing flows of migrants and refugees in the EU. The program and registration is available here: https://interaliaproject.com/participation/international-conference-potentials-limitations-of-subnational-solutions-to-the-migrant-crisis/ We will jointly discuss the current public-health crisis and focus some cold facts like that transnational issues like major diseases or natural disasters cannot be stopped at borders or the fact that nationally planned, centrally imposed responses to challenges that are transnational in nature and local in effect are often fruitless, disproportional and divisive. The goal of the conference is a fruitful discussion among EU citizens of different nationalities, education and opinions.
