Exhibition #Nezapomeň and other activities within the framework of the international project Ocastcast Europe

The local exhibition #Nezapomeň in Prague, which took place within the framework of the international project Ocastcast Europe (supported by Europe For Citizens Program 2014-2020), was organized as one of the project activities. You can read about other activities below.

6 events have been carried out within this project:

Event 1

Participation: The event involved  10  citizens, including  1  participant from the city of Prague (Czech Republic), 1 participant from the city of Budapest (Hungary), 1  participant from the city of Skopje (North Macedonia), 1  participant from the city of Sofia (Bulgaria), 1  participant from the city of Novi Sad (Serbia), 5 participants from the city of Athens (Greece)

Location / Dates: The event took place in Athens, Greece, from 09/11/2017 to 12/11/2017
Short description:  The aim of the event was to facilitate team-building, to get partners’ agreement, and enhance motivation and trust in the project.

 

Event 2
Participation: The event involved 26 citizens, including  4  participants from Prague, 4 participants Budapest, 4  participants Skopje, 4 participants from Sofia, 4 participants from Novi Sad, 6 participants from Athens.

Location / Dates: The event took place in Skoulikaria and Arta, Greece, from 05/12/2017  to 12/12/2017
Short description:  The aim of the event was to familiarize participants with the ongoing discourse on migration and its cultural and philosophical origins. The aim of the workshops was to provide a clear understanding on different aspects of launching a cultural event (organization, implementation, promotion, obstacles, stakeholders etc.) and then put this knowledge into practice. Thus, participants acquired both theoretical insights and practical information and skills for carrying out the project tasks.

 

Event 3
Participation: The event involved 1425 citizens in vivo and another 1750 through live-streaming, including 215 participants from Sofia, 400 participants from Prague, 190 participants from Skopje as well as 1600 through live-streaming, 340 participants from Novi Sad as well as 150 through live-streaming, 280 participants from Budapest.

Location / Dates: The event took place in Budapest from 02/05/2018 to 12/05/2018, in Prague from 14/05/2018 – 18/06/2018, in Novi Sad from 06/06/2018 to 15/06/2018, in Sofia from 11/06/2018 to 20/06/2018, in Skopje from 13/06/2018 to 23/06/2018.
Short description:  The aim of the event was to enhance intercultural understanding and foster feelings of empathy while it will enable interaction between host and migrant communities. The participative nature of the exhibition increases the ownership of the people who lend/donate their materials and, thus, the visibility of the project. Side events will attract diverse audiences and enhance the learning aspect of the project. Guided tours will provide students with new knowledge that could affect their future behaviors.

 

Event 4

Participation: The event involved 305 citizens in vivo and another 14400 through live-streaming, including 30 participants from Sofia, 80 participants from Prague, 65 participants from Skopje as well as 12000 through live-streaming, 70 participants from Novi Sad as well as 1200 through live-streaming, 60 participants from Budapest.

Location / Dates: The event took place in Budapest on the 10/05/2018, in Prague on the 23/05/2018, in Novi Sad on the 14/06/2018 to 15/06/2018, in Sofia on 19/06/2018 and in Skopje on 22/06/2018.
Short description: The aim of the event was to foster a comprehensive understanding of needs of multiple groups and to advance socially and economically sustainable policies. Policy recommendations derived from an inclusive, bottom-up process involving both local citizens and migrants, that not only emphasised on effectiveness but also on humanely feelings of empathy and compassion. Emphasis on positive aspects of migration were used for deconstructing negative images and reaching positive sum solutions.

 

Event 5

Participation: The event involved 1200 citizens coming from Athens, Greece as well as many other cities and countries including the 5 partner countries – Hungary, Czech Republic, Serbia, Bulgaria and North Macedonia.

Location/Dates: The event took place in Athens, Greece from 04/10/2018 to 27/10/2018.
Short description: The aim of the event was to enhance intercultural understanding and foster feelings of empathy while it enabled interaction between host and migrant communities. Besides, the international exhibition aimed at increasing Europeans’ common sense of belonging and knowledge about common features of different countries’ history and different peoples’ heritage.

 

Event 6

Participation: The event involved 150 citizens coming from Athens, Greece as well as many other cities and countries including the 5 partner countries – Hungary, Czech Republic, Serbia, Bulgaria and North Macedonia.

Location/Dates: The event took place in Athens, Greece on 25/10/2018 and 26/10/2018.
Short description: The aim of the event was to utilize project findings – citizens’ inputs and policy makers’ positions – for fostering a cross-sectoral debate on the future of the EU in relation to the integration of migrants involving academics, policy makers and practitioners. Stakeholders received inputs from different countries. This supported the elaboration of policy proposals that took into consideration the views of different stakeholders while room for official and unofficial networking was offered.
