Analysis of public policies and practice from the perspective of equality of migrant women in the labor market

Organization for Aid to Refugees issued an Analysis of public policies and practice from the perspective of migrant women in the labor market. The analysis points to e.g. persistent discrimination and unequal position of migrant women in the Czech labor market. One of the conclusions of the analysis highlights the fact that although migration and integration policies in the Czech Republic do perceive the phenomenon of feminization of migration and the vulnerability of migrant women, they do not reflect specific needs of this group in connection with unemployment policy and intertwining equality policy. That is why legislative and systemic recommendations (policy paper) to policy-makers were issued together with the analysis. Their aim is to promote such changes which would reduce or eliminate discrimination and unequal status of this category of persons in the labor market.

The analysis and the policy paper were prepared under the project Equal opportunities of migrant women.

The project Equal opportunities of migrant women was supported by the Open Society Fund Prague from the Let’s Give (Wo)men a Chance programme which is financed from Norwegian funds.
