The project focuses on the issue of illegal labor migration of foreigners from outside the EU, therefore, to aliens who work in the Czech Republic without a work permit or in conflict with work permit and/or are here without a residence permit. The project aims to contribute to finding innovative solutions of this serious problem through an awareness-raising, providing information, guidance and lobbying.Illegal labor leads to the exploitation of foreigners, to reduce standards of employment rights as a result of dumping of illegal labor, the fiscal losses or security risks. In the framework of international cooperation and on the basis of inspiration from other European countries, mainly from Spain and Portugal, extensive experience in the integration of socially excluded people in the legal labor market and society will be used.
OPU addresses the Interior Minister before the JHA Council meeting of 4/5 June 2009 in Luxembourg
Organization for Aid to Refugees addresses the new Czech Interior Minister Mr. Martin Pecina before the forthcoming JHA Council in Luxembourg to stand against the unlawful deportations of refugees from Italy back to Libya as Libya does not respect basic human rights of persecuted individuals. Italy acts in breach of the 1951 Geneva Refugee Convention and the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and undermines the effort of the EU to harmonize asylum and immigration rules. OPU urges the Minister to support the reform of the Dublin Regulation. The need to reform the Dublin Regulation has been also recognized by the European Commission and the European Parliament. OPU also urges the Minister Pecina to reiterate at the Council meeting in Luxembourg that people in need of international protection are properly identified in all actions of the EU and its Member States in their fight against illegal immigration. Call to the Minister of Interior (in Czech language only)
