It would be hard to imagine OPU without volunteers. They enrich and complete the services of OPU virtually from its very beginnings in 1991. We very much appreciate the work our volunteers do with our clients.
This is why we accredited our volunteer activities with the Ministry of the Interior even though it imposes higher requirements on volunteers. Volunteers who wish to work with us must be aged 18 and above, provide a proof of clear criminal record, a report of medical examination, and must undergo a psychological diagnostics. Then they attend training in professional skills and regular supervision meetings. As a thank-you to our volunteers, OPU offers free access to lectures given by OPU and tickets to sport games and theater plays from our collaborating companies.
Volunteering is a challenging activity - it requires time and willingness to learn new things and to help people who often come from a very distant culture. Volunteering requires creativity, new ideas, and energy but it is also a useful life experience. Volunteers meet people from different cultures, learn tolerance and understanding and participate in a useful activity. Volunteering also helps to develop skills in communication, team and independent work.
We hope our collaboration will last!
