Educational activities
At this time we organise several educational multicultural projects aimed at primary schools in Prague and elsewhere in the Czech Republic. We also offer interesting services for the public:
Internships for students – by prior arrangement our employees can discuss the possibility of internships with students (both Czech and international) and to arrange consultations for final theses.
Publishing – as part of our projects we endeavour to publish information concerning refugeeism and asylum.
Lectures – by prior arrangement or as part of our project we organise series of lectures on a range of topics concerning refugees; the lectures can be arranged anywhere in the Czech Republic (as part of workshops, festivals, cultural and school events)
Offered lectures
Migration and Human Rights
- a two-hour lecture intended for the 6th to 9th years of primary school
- during this lecture, interactive methods are used to familiarize children with the terms forced and voluntary migration, human rights, etc.
- recommended number of participants: 25
- for the lecture it is necessary for chairs to be arranged in a circle and for the classroom to be equipped with an interactive whiteboard and Internet connection
- price to be negotiated
- Country of Origin Workshop
- a three-hour lecture intended for the 6th to 9th years of primary school
- the lecture, given by an OPU instructor and a foreign instructor, will inform children about life in the foreign instructor’s country and his/her personal story. By means of experiential techniques the children learn about matters linked to the integration of a foreigner in a new country
- recommended number of participants: 25
- for the lecture it is necessary for chairs to be arranged in a circle and for the classroom to be equipped with an interactive whiteboard and Internet connection
- currently we can offer workshops on Vietnam, Belarus, Angola, Afghanistan, Iraq, Congo
- price to be negotiated
Furthermore, we offer lectures on “Extremism in the Czech Republic” and “Integration, Foreigners and Media” for secondary schools and universities.

OPU offers accredited education programmes
In 2011, OPU was accredited educational institution by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and Ministry of Education, which entitled it to offer accredited education programmes for teachers and social workers.
